Xinle Relics, located in the north side of Longshan Road, Huanghe North Street, Huanggu District, Shenyang and on the high terrace in the north of Xinkai River, is a matriarchal clan settlement in the Neolithic age. Xinle Relics was discovered in 1973. For the protection of this ancient cultural site that once caused a sensation in China, Shenyang Municipal People’s Government announced to list Xinle Relics as a municipal-level key cultural relic protection site in 1982. The Cultural Relic Administration was renamed Xinle Relics Museum in 1986; and listed in the fifth batch of national key cultural relic protection unit by the State Council in 2001. The museum is composed of two parts in display — cultural relic display hall and historical site display area.
